Zhiqing Jia, female, born in June 1968 is the professor, PhD supervisor and chief expert in Chinese Academy of Forestry. Professor Jia received a doctor degree from College of Soil and Water Conservation, Beijing Forestry University, China, in 1996. She is the deputy director of the Institute of Desertification Studies, Chinese Academy of Forestry and the leader of Qinghai Gonghe Desert Ecosystem Research Station. She is mainly engaged in soil conservation and desertification control, selection and cultivation of excellent plant materials, optimized allocation of shelter forest on the degraded land, quick restoration of vegetation, comprehensive prevention and control of desertification on alpine sandy land techniques and so on. She has implemented about 20 projects, such as National Scientific Key Project, Forestry Public Benefit Scientific Research Special Project, 948 Project, Agricultural Science and Technology Transformation Project, Scientific and Technological Achievements Promotion Project and so on. She has published over 80 academic papers on the key journals including 10 articles indexed by SCI (IF=59.73), 1 monograph, 5 representative books, 1 patent and 4 provincial-level awards. She has promoted and applied scientific and technical achievements for more than 200,000 mu of afforestation in different fragile ecological regions.
