2018 Training Course on Bamboo Technologies for the Belt and Road Countries, hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by Bamboo Research and Development Center of NFGA, was successfully closed in Hangzhou on 15 Jun 2018. Mr. Xu Qiangxing, Deputy Director General of International Forestry Cooperation Center and Mr. Tian Yongchen Director General of Bamboo Research and Development Center of NFGA attended and addressed the closing ceremony, which was hosted by Mr. Ding Xingcui, Director for international cooperation of Bamboo Research and Development Center. The training course lasted for 56 days and was attended by 31 trainees from 10 countries.
Mr. Xu Qiangxing introduced efforts made by the Chinese government in ecological civilization and China’s foreign-aid training in forestry. He emphasized that training on bamboo technologies should be used as a platform to strengthen communication with countries along the Belt and Road, share experience in bamboo processing and utilization and promote mutual development.
Mr. Tian Yongchen called on trainees to take the training course as an opportunity to enhance exchanges, advance bilateral and multilateral cooperation and promote sustainable development of bamboo and forestry.
Mr. Lev Salinas Cardiel from the Mexican Bamboo and Forest Organization delivered his remarks on behalf of all trainees at the closing ceremony. He described the course as a “miracle” for its manifest of differences and shocks in culture, diet and habits among all trainees. He thanked the Chinese government and the Bamboo Research and Development Center for the platform and expressed his admire for China in its progress in social, economic and ecological development. He was grateful to the Bamboo Research and Development Center and all the other trainees for the support, which ensured the success of the training course.
