Overseas Students in APFNet from 5 Central Asian Countries Visited Experimental Center of Desert Forestry for Education and Internship

Overseas students from 5 central Asian countries of the Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) were led by Prof. Li Gangtie from College of Desert Control Science and Engineering of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University to visit Experimental Center of Desert Forestry for field education and internship from 4th to 5th July. Faculty members of the Experimental Center introduced related topics.

The students visited the comprehensive treatment zone of the northeastern edge of the Ulan Buh Desert, and research forest of pinus sylvestris, germplasm nursery yard of hippophae rhamnoides, pilot plantation of cerasus humilis, pilot plantation of haloxylon ammodendron-cistanche deserticola, farmland shelter network and Dengkou Desert Ecological Location Research Station. Prof. Li Gangtie said that as an education and internship base for undergraduate and postgraduate students of College of Desert Control Science and Engineering, the Experimental Center of Desert Forestry has played an important role.

These overseas students from 5 central Asian countries were enrolled by APFNet for training in Inner Mongolia Agricultural University. Their enrollment is in line with China’s Belt and Road Initiative, promotes cooperation between China and Central Asia, and contributes to environmental protection and ecological development.
