According to the schedule of the program of National 13^th 5-year plan key research and development, “Research on key technologies of processing and efficient utilization of rosin”, carried out by Research Institute of Chemical Processing and Utilization of Forest Products, Prof. Zhang Wei, Director of Center for Green Chemistry, University of Massachusetts Boston, was invited by the program team to visit the Research Institute for academic exchanges. He made a presentation titled “Green and highly efficient synthesis and asymmetric organocatalysis”, in which he introduced 12 basic principles of green chemistry, and its application in the synthesis of drug intermediates.

During his visit, Prof. Zhang Wei visited the laboratory and the instrument analysis center, and was engaged in exchanges and discussions with researchers and graduate students in the research on green processing and utilization of rosin.
