From 15^th to 18^th Oct, 4^th National Stable Isotope Ecological Conference and the 2017 Annual Academic Meeting for Ecological Professional Committee of Stable Isotope, Ecological Society of China, was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Mr. Xu Qing, Deputy Secretary General of Ecological Professional Committee of Stable Isotope, Ecological Society of China, and research fellow of Research Institute of Forest Ecology, Environment and Protection attended the Conference.

Invited by the host, Mr. Xu Qing made a presentation titled Application and prospects of stable isotope in water-cycle research in ecosystems, which fully reflects the latest progress and future research prospects of stable isotope in water-cycle research in ecosystems.

Dr. Gao Qiang and Dr. Zhang Peipei from Research Institute of Forest Ecology, Environment and Protection presented their posters for discussion, titled Water uptake strategies of plants with different functional types in the Monsoon Evergreen Broad-leaved Forest at Dinghu Mountain of China and Hydrogen and oxygen isotope characteristics in precipitation and source of precipitation in regions along the river in Anqing respectively.

The Conference held five panel discussions, namely Research in stable isotope in greenhouse gases in atmosphere, Research in stable isotope in water-cycle, Research in carbon stable isotope in plants and soil, Research in nitrogen stable isotope in plants and soil, and Research in stable isotope in chemicals in atmosphere.
