2014 Training Seminar on Asia CITES Implementation and Wildlife Conservation Opens

Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and co-organized by China National Bamboo Research Center (CBRC) and the CITES Management Authority of China (CNMA), 2014 Training Seminar on Asia CITES Implementation and Wildlife Conservation opened on June 26th in Hangzhou.

Based on the successful organization of 2012 Sino-Africa CITES Implementation and Wildlife Conservation, this training seminar has received 25 participants from 9 Asian developing countries, aiming at enhancing mutual understanding, eliminating misunderstanding and prejudice, so as to reinforce the cooperation of wildlife conservation and CITES implementation between China and other Asian countries.

Mr. Meng Xianlin, General Director of the CITES Management Authority of China, Mr. Li Yanquan, vice president of Chinese Forestry Academy, Mr. Wang Zhangming, deputy General Director of Zhejiang Provincial Forestry Department, Mr. Xia Jun,  chief of Division of Bilateral Cooperation, the department of International Cooperation, State Forestry Administration (SFA), Madam Yang Liuying, Division chief of Anti-smuggling Bureau, General Administration of Customs, China, Mr. Fan Aihua, Chief of Foreign Economy and Trade Division of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, Mr. Chen Yuhe, deputy Director general of CBRC attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches, expressing their sincerest wishes for the seminar. Other leaders from State Forestry Administration, The CITES Management Authority of China, Chinese Academy of Forestry, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Forestry and CBRC were also present.
