The National Science Foundation of China has announced the peer review results of its final funding application approvals for 2013. RIF had submitted 36 research funding applications to NSFC for the year of 2013, of which 13 applications have been approved with funding. It is a 36% approval rate which is higher than the 23% national average. The awarded research funding to RIF this year has been both the highest approval rate for proposed applications and the largest amount from NSFC which totals RMB9.11 million.
In addition, RIF has also received 2 research grants funded by Beijing Nature Science Foundation for 2013. Among the funded research applicants, 80% are under the age of 40 which reflects the growth of young talents and the steady elevation of R&D capability in RIF.
Prioritized for the researchers in the universities and scientific research institutions who have strong research capabilities and facilities, NSFC has become one of the major funding sources supporting basic research across China.
