On October 30th, Bamboo Delegation of Brazil, with four members, visited CAF, designing to make arrangement on relevant issues of MOU between Brazil and China, which was focused on bilateral cooperation in science and technology in the development of bamboo industry and signed by Ministers of Ministry of Science and Technology of both countries in 2011. Vice President of CAF, CHU Fuxiang chaired a discussion meeting.

In the meeting, LU Wenming, Director of International Cooperation Division of CAF, gave a brief introduction on CAF and generally reviewed the cooperation between CAF and Brazil. Relevant personnel from both sides introduced development of bamboo field respectively and exchanged views on bamboo processing, cultivating and other relevant areas. Brazil put forward a five-year cooperative working proposal (2013-2017) which listed the specific conception on bilateral cooperation. It created a good beginning for the specific cooperation and communication in the next step.

From October 31st to November 5th, the delegation paid visit to Zhejiang, Anhui, Guangdong provinces and other places. They went on field investigations focusing on the processing and cultivating of bamboo. In Research Institute of Subtropical Forestry, Research Institute of Tropical Forest and China National Bamboo Research Centre, they had a in-depth discussion with the relevant experts. These communication activities would further strengthen cooperation between Brazil and CAF in bamboo field and effectively promote the implement of MOU on bilateral cooperation in science and technology in the area of bamboo development singed by both sides.
