94 Ph.D. candidates and 173 master candidates received their degrees on 7 July, 2012, the 2012 Degree Day at CAF. The graduation ceremony was chaired by Prof. CHEN Xingliang, Vice President of CAF and Prof. LIU Shirong, Vice President announced the names of the degree earners. Prof. ZHANG Shougong, President of CAF, moved the tassels that hangs from the graduate's mortarboard from the right to the left and expressed his best wishes for the graduates.

As announced by Prof. MENG Ping, Vice President of CAF, two doctoral dissertations won the Outstanding Paper Awards. They are Study on Fast-growing Mechanism of Phyllostachys heterocycla written by CUI Kai under instruction by Prof. ZHANG Jianguo and Synthesis and Application of Cellulose Nanocrystals and Its Nanocomposites written by LIU He under instruction by Academician SONG Zhanqian.
