“China-CEEC Forestry Cooperation Review and Prospect” Seminar was Held Online

On November 17th, the third seminar on forestry cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, “China-CEEC Forestry Cooperation Review and Prospect” was undertaken by the Division of International Cooperation and the Research Institute of Forestry. Chen Lin, Deputy Director of the Division of Bilateral Cooperation I of the Department of International Cooperation of NFGA, was invited to give a webinar. The webinar was presided over by researcher Lei Jingpin from the Research Institute of Forestry, and more than 40 people attended the meeting, including Deputy Director Chen Yujie (acting deputy director) of the Division of International Cooperation, Deputy Director Pang Yong of the Science and Technology Division, foreign affairs staff from the Institute and relevant experts participating in China-CEEC forestry scientific research cooperation.

Lei Jingpin reviewed the relevant status of the China-CEEC lecture series, and Chen Yujie briefly introduced the CAF's participation in the China-CEEC forestry cooperation coordination mechanism and the development of forestry scientific research cooperation with CEECs.

Chen Lin systematically explained the origin and progress of the China-CEEC forestry cooperation coordination mechanism from four aspects: the establishment background, operational framework, mechanism operation and cooperation results, cooperation challenges and future cooperation prospects. Moreover, Chen Lin provided information on the forest resources status of Central and Eastern European countries and the relevant policies and actions of the China-CEEC forestry coordination mechanism. Chen Lin also stated the cooperation principles, action plans, management framework and discussions of the China-CEEC forestry coordination mechanism, organized the China-CEEC forestry cooperation progress from the aspects of administrative management, scientific research and education cooperation, trade and investment cooperation and project support. Lastly, Chen Lin analyzed the current challenges faced by China-CEEC forestry cooperation and proposed ideas for future cooperation opportunities and directions. Chen Lin’s speech inspired CAF in future participation in China-CEEC forestry scientific research cooperation.

Finally, relevant experts asked questions about the China-CEEC forestry cooperation project application, funding sources, support mechanism, cooperation mechanism, and personnel and organization allocation and other related contents in a lively discussion.
