“China-CEEC Agricultural Cooperation Progress and Experience Sharing” Seminar Was Held Online and Offline Simultaneously

On August 25th, the second seminar on China-CEEC cooperation “China-CEEC Agricultural Cooperation Progress and Experience Sharing” co-sponsored by the Division of International Cooperation and the Research Institute of Forestry was held online and offline simultaneously. Associate Researcher Yu Min of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was invited to teach the webinar. The webinar was presided over by Researcher Lei Jingpin of the Research Institute of Forestry, and more than 40 scientific researcher and management staff including Yin Changjun, deputy director of the Research Institute of Forestry and Liu Qingxin, deputy director of the Division of Science and Technology attended the webinar.

Lei Jingpin reviewed the overview and progress of China-CEEC agricultural cooperation. Liu Qingxin briefly introduced the situation of CAF’s China-CEEC international scientific and technological cooperation projects and expressed support for the project collaboration.

Yu Min systematically introduced the progress and effectiveness of China-CEEC agricultural cooperation from four aspects: agricultural cooperation mechanism, agricultural product trade situation and main characteristics, China’s agricultural investment in Central and Eastern European countries, and agricultural science and technology collaboration. Yu shared important experiences in agricultural collaboration, emphasized the importance of factors such as technology, trade and mechanism in the development of cooperation, analyzed the difficulties and problems faced by agricultural collaboration, and put forward suggestions for China-CEEC forestry collaboration which serves as guidance for the prospective China-CEEC forestry collaboration.

Lastly, a Q&A session was held for the participants answering their questions on the related subjects and as a platform for relevant discussions.

Yu Min is an associate researcher at the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Yu’s main research direction is agricultural cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries. Yu was a manager of China-CEEC agricultural international cooperation.
