On August 15th, the "2021 Francophone Africa Bamboo Planting and Processing Technology Workshop", sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the China National Bamboo Research Center (the International Forestry Science and Technology Training Center of NFGA, hereinafter referred to as the Center), was successfully completed. 131 participants from nine African countries attended the meeting, namely Rwanda, Congo (DRC), Congo Brazzaville, Mali, Chad, Tunisia Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Senegal. Zhong Zheke, deputy director of the Center, Rulindo, a student representative and Mr. Bertin Barahira, district entrepreneurship development director of district government respectively delivered a speech. The ceremony was presided over by Ding Xingcui, director of the International Forestry Science and Technology Training Center of NFGA and director of the International Cooperation and Achievement Transformation Department of the Center.
Zhong Zheke, on behalf of the Center, sincerely expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce, NFGA, CAF, Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province and Zhejiang Forestry Administration and other relevant departments as well as related Chinese Diplomatic and Consular Mission for providing strong support to the workshop. He sincerely congratulated the students on overcoming difficulties, being united and friendly, and successfully completing their study. He hoped the students could put what they have learned into practice, keep in close contact, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and jointly make greater contributions to the development of African bamboo industry and China-Africa friendship.
Mr. Bertin Barahira expressed his affectionate thanks to China’s Ministry of Commerce and other relevant parties for holding the workshop as well as the hard work of the Center staff. He believed that the training course met the participants' strong desire to learn technical knowledge of the bamboo industry and Chinese culture, deepened the friendship between China and Africa, and provided new ideas and models for China-Africa bamboo cooperation in the post-epidemic era. Looking forward to an early end of COVID-19, he will visit China together with students to experience the rapid development of China's bamboo industry and the rapid changes of its cities.
