On April 28, experts from Research Institute of Forestry Policy and Information were invited by the UK Global Project "Forest Governance, Market and Climate" (FGMC) to participate in the FGMC Stakeholder Forum - China Special Session online, and shared the achievements of China's participation in the FGMC sub-project, the China-UK Cooperation on International Forestry Investment and Trade Project (InFIT), in the past eight years. InFIT is part of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's (FCDO) Global Project FGMC, which is jointly initiated by China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA), China's Ministry of Commerce (MofCom) and FCDO.
About 100 FGMC stakeholders attended the China Special Session. Chen yong and SuHaiYing, researchers from Research Institute of Forestry Policy and Information, respectively shared the latest progress in the timber supply chain legitimacy construction, China's overseas forestry enterprises to carry out responsible overseas investment and the best practice of green development, and shared the successful experience, facing problems and countermeasures of InFIT project with an in-depth discussion with foreign experts.
The meeting strengthened communication and exchanges with stakeholders, and demonstrated China's efforts of promoting the protection and utilization of forest resources, sustainable timber supply chain construction, and green overseas investment by telling China’s stories.
