Signing the cooperation agreement

Unveiling ceremony of the CAF-UT Center for Biomass Science and Engineering

On 6 Nov, at the opening ceremony of the 2017 Sino-US Seminar on Lignocellulosic Biomass Science and Engineering held in Nanjing, Mr. Zhang Shougong, CAF President and Mr. Timothy Cross, Chancellor of the University of Tennessee, U.S., signed a cooperation agreement.

The agreement stipulates that on the basis of equality and mutual benefits, CAF-UT Center for Biomass Science and Engineering is jointly launched. The Center will serve as a platform for the two sides in academic and educational cooperation, exchanges in students and researchers, carrying out research activities, organizing academic conferences, conducting short-term academic programs and exchanges, and communicating and sharing academic publications and textbooks, academic journals and information. Responsibilities and obligations are set forth, identifying intellectual property rights and publications management, and activities arrangement, fund and source of fund.

The agreement decides Mr. Tom Gill, Director of international programs, Institute of Agriculture, and Prof. Wang Siqun, Center for Renewable Carbon, Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries, the University of Tennessee, as coordinators for the U.S., and Mr. Lu Wenming, Director of Division for International Cooperation, and Mr. Zhou Yonghong, Director General, Research Institute of Chemical Processing and Utilization of Forest Products, CAF, as coordinators of China.
