Symposium in Research Institute of Forestry in New Zealand
At the invitation of the Ministry of primary industry of New South Wales (NSW), Bond University and the Research Institute of Forestry in New Zealand, a delegation of 4 people of the Research Institute of Forest Resource Information Techniques of CAF, including Wang Dengju and Ye Bing, the Director and Deputy Director of the Institute, visited Australia and New Zealand for learning and exchanges on the ecological construction on forestry, technological innovation and forestry industry policies from 25th November to 4th December.
During the stay in Australia, the delegation visited Forest Association of Australia, conducting in-depth discussions on forestry industry development and technological innovation as well as the carbon sequestration market in Australia. On the visit to the Ministry of primary industry of NSW, both sides exchanged their views on the institutional reform on state-owned forest management, sustainable management of forests and fostering of planted eucalyptus trees and took field trip to eucalyptus forest. Upon the symposium held in Bond University, two sides introduced their technological progress made in related areas and talent training and exchanged in terms of sustainable management on natural resources and natural education, etc.
In New Zealand, delegates visited the headquarter of the Research Institute of Forestry in Rotorua, discussing forestry property rights system, cultivation and management of forests, processing and trade of forest product. Delegation group also carried on the field trip to experimental forests and nursery garden for the exchanges on logging and management of forests and the policies on forestry investment and forest product trade.
It is of great significance for China to learn from Australia and New Zealand for their cutting-edge development on the ecological construction, forestry development and technological innovation.
