Guo Hao

Male, born in 1962, PhD, professor of Institute of Desertification Studies of Chinese Academy of Forestry. Chief expert of soil and water conservation.

Education:

Received a Bachelor's degree from forestry specialty in Shenyang Agriculture University.

Received a Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture from water and soil conservation and desertification Control specialty in Beijing Forestry University.

Work experience:

Worked at Afforestation Research Institute of Liaoning in Arid Zones and served as assistant engineer, senior engineer and researcher from 1986 to 2005.

Worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Forest Ecology, Environment and Protection of Chinese Academy of Forestry from 2003 to 2006.

Worked at the Research Institute of Forest Ecology, Environment and Protection of Chinese Academy of Forestry from 2006 to 2011.

Since 2011 working at the Institute of Desertification Studies of Chinese Academy of Forestry.

Research interests:

Mainly engaged in soil and water conservation, desertification control, ecosystem services assessment and berries research.

Projects:

Presided over or participate more than 40 projects in the National Natural Science Fund, Natural Science and Technology Research Plan, Public Welfare Projects of Forestry, International Cooperation Projects of China and so on. 

Now, hosting research of the National Natural Science Fund in general programs of the law and source traceability of dust fall in areas of sandstorm harmed based on desert ecosystem services assessment.

Awards and publications:

Won one award of the first prize, one award of second prize, 2 awards of third prize in provincial (ministry) level. 

Published 7 books as editor-in-chief. 

Published over 70 academic papers. Drafted and published 9 standards of National Forestry Industry Standard.
