Madagascar technical research group of 18 people from United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on small hydro-power station and solar energy visited Bamboo Research and Development Center on 26th November, 2018.

Ding Xingcui, Director of the Division of International Cooperation of Bamboo Research and Development Center, introduced their international training and cooperation programs, shared the experiences of international cooperation on China’s bamboo industry, and responded to group members’ concerns.

Louis Travernier, program coordinator of UNIDO, expressed appreciation to warm reception and gracious hospitality of Bamboo Research and Development Center for himself and his delegation. He pointed out that Madagascar is naturally endowed with abundant bamboo resources. Combined with small hydro-power station project, the development of bamboo industry would facilitate the alleviation of deforestation and water and soil loss, which implicates the huge potential of cooperation for both sides.

After the meeting, the group visited the exhibition room of the Construction and Technological Research Center of SFA on bamboo-made housing。(Cai Hanjiang/ Bamboo Research and Development Center)
