From 17 May to 2 June, experts from Department of Forestry, Washington & Jefferson College, U.S., including Dr. Robbie Luliucci, were invited to visit Research Institute of Forest Ecology, Environment and Protection for research cooperation for two weeks.

The two sides discussed on research in tree microorganism groups, and functions of bioactive secondary endophytic fungal metabolites of trees and their roles in ecological environment. Through research and sampling on experimental sample areas, high flux separation of endophytic microorganisms in laboratories and molecular identification, the two sides improved understanding and laid a solid foundation for further cooperation in the future.

The two sides also experimented on extraction and identification of liquid and solid endophytic fungal fermentation, and soluble bioactive metabolites, and obtained secondary metabolites. (Yan Donghui, Research Institute of Forest Ecology, Environment and Protection)
