Invited by APFNet, SFA, Mr. Keo Omaris, Deputy Director General of Forestry Department of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia, led a four-people forestry delegation to visit Experimental Center of Tropical Forestry from 16th to 17th Dec. Mr. Li Zhaochen of APFNet, Mr. Cai Daoxiong, Director General, and Mr. Jia Hongyan, Deputy Director General of Experimental Center of Tropical Forestry, escorted them to field visits and attended the academic exchanges.
The delegation visited the demonstration forests for large DBH precious tree species, demonstration forests for pinales plantation close-to-nature regeneration, and demonstration forests for restoration and enhancement of degraded forest lands.
At the seminar, Cai Daoxiong briefed the delegation the development history, research platform, operation ideas and research achievements of the Experimental Center of Tropical Forestry, and introduced its practices in restoration of degraded forest lands. The two sides discussed on forest restoration of degraded forestlands. Mr. Keo Omaris spoke highly of the practices of the Experimental Center of Tropical Forestry, and said that these plans can help Cambodia restore degraded forests.
