Scholars from Institute of Agriculture, University of Tennessee Visited CAF for Scientific and Technological Cooperation

In the afternoon of 28 March, Mr. William Brown, Dean of Institute of Agriculture, University of Tennessee, U.S., led his colleaguesto visit CAF for academic exchanges. Mr. Chu Fuxiang, Vice President of CAF, hosted the meeting.

To deepen and advance cooperation, the two sides agreed to sign an MOU and widen cooperation areas, and discussed on further cooperation fields. They decided to convene a symposium on biomass energy and products in China this autumn, and explore to set up a China-U.S. biomass energy and products research center.

Close cooperation has been kept between CAF and the University of Tennessee in timber science, forest chemical processing and biomass energy. Prof. Wang Siqun from the University of Tennessee was introduced as the only expert in forestryby CAF in China’s Recruitment Program of Global Experts.

Mr. Fu Feng, Director of Division for Science and Technology, Mr. Lu Wenming, Director ofDivision for International Cooperation, Mr. Zeng Fanyong, Deputy Director of Department of Postgraduate Studies, Mr. Lv Jianxiong, Executive-Deputy Dean of Research Institute of Wood Industry, and Mr. Fang Guigan, Deputy Dean of Research Institute of Chemical Processing and Utilization of Forest Products attended the meeting.
