Resource Institute of Forest Information Techniques CAF Held International Seminar On Forest Management and Information Processing Technology

From October 10 to 11, the International Seminar On Forest Management and Information Processing Technology was held in Xiangshan Hotel, Beijing. The seminar was held by Data Center and Forest Management Office of Resource Institute of Forest Information Techniques CAF, and hosted by Researcher Ji Ping and Lu Yuanchang.

The seminar invited Dr.Tomas Bucha, Dr.Martin Morav?ík and Ivan Barka PhD., all of whom are experts from Slovakian National Forestry Center to give reports on their special field. Through the reports, staff in of Resource Institute of Forest Information Techniques CAF learned the advanced experiences and techniques of Slovakian forestry management and data fusion techniques, which are of certain importance as to China’s remote sensing and monitoring of forestry.

Chinese forestry experts also participated the meeting and introduced China’s forest management techniques and information processing.

The aim of the seminar is to promote cooperation and communication, and academic discussions on: 1 application of multi-functional management of forest in China and Slovakia; 2 application of data fusion techniques in forest management system in both countries; 3 application of forest management system based on remote sensing techniques. The seminar furthered China and Slovakia’s communication on forest science, and prepared well for future cooperation.

About 25 experts on forest management, database application and big data from colleges, universities and research institutes attended the meeting.
