From September 21 to 22, Mr. Guilherme Alexandre Wiedman from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Brazil, Mr. Frederique Rosa e Abreu, and Ms. Patricia Maria Drumond from Agriculture Science Academy came to Experimental Center of Desert Forestry CAF for a visit. Deputy Director Hao Yuguang and other researchers attended the meeting with the delegation.

At the seminar, Guilherme Alexandre Wiedman gave a wholesome introduction on Brazil’s economy, scientific research, especially on the development of agriculture, forestry and husbandry in Brazil. Liu Fang, Head of Technology Department in Experimental Center of Desert Forestry CAF, introduced the researches and desert control in the center. The Brazilian experts showed strong interest in studies on buckthorn and seedling of psammophyte, and hoped to promote cooperations in future research.

The delegation also visited the experimental field, specifically to see the selective seedling of buckthorn, model experiments on adverse-resistant plants, Sino-German desertification control, research stations of Desert Ecological System in Dengkou, Inner Mongolia, etc.
