From September 12 to 16, 5 representatives from Harbin Research Institute of Forestry Machinery, including Fan Dongwen, Xu Kesheng, Li Yingzhen, etc., attended the working conferences held in the U.K. by ISO/TC23/SC13 and ISO/TC 23/SC17.

The two committees held their conferences together this year. As P members of the two committees, China sent a delegation to the group meetings and the general assembly.

There are 3 “Firsts” for China in the conferences:

1 The first time to make 22 technical and editorial advices to the international standards (most of which accepted by the conference);

2 The first time to send experts to join the Revision Group of International Standards and to revise the two newly raised international standards;

3 The first time to take part in the Round Robin experiment.

The 3 “Firsts” marked the point where China actually starts to take part in the international standardization of forestry machinery; and it marked the improvement of China’s standards of garden machinery and portable forestry machinery. As China has more say in the international forum, our garden machinery and portable forestry machinery will achieve more progress and development.
