Bayer APAC Project Executive Jason Nash Visited the China Eucalyptus Research and Development Center

From October 10-12, altogether 9 staff of Bayer, including the APAC project executive of Bayer Crop Science (China) Jason Nash, General Manager of Greater China Shen Sian, and other management members of Bayer’s offices in Indonesia and China visited the China Eucalyptus Research and Development Center.

In the afternoon of October 10, in the meeting room of the Eucalyptus Center, the deputy director, Researcher Chen Shaoxiong introduced the basic research of the institute, and the development as well as the industrial prospect of planted eucalyptus in China; Assistant Researcher Du Apeng gave a detailed report on results of the cooperated herbicide experiment conducted from 2014 to 2016.

On October 11, Du accompanied the delegation to Hepu County and Pubei County in Guangxi Province, and visited the Glyphosate +EO and Glufosinate +EO experimental plots; the delegation also discussed with technicians from Department of Forest Management in Stora Enso Guangxi about the process, effects and costs of the management and tending of forest.

On October 12, the delegation came to Southern Seedling Base for field survey, and took a look at the seedling, fertilization of planting sites and tending of crops. Detailed comparison and analysis were made to show the differences between China, Indonesia and Germany in chemical weeding equipments and related technologies.

Bayer is one of the most famous enterprises in the world. It first produced “Drug of the Century” Aspirin. Bayer Crop Science (China) has been researching in fields like crop protection, non-agricultural pest control, seed and biological technologies. In early 2014, Bayer sent its commissioner to the Eucalyptus Center for technological cooperation, and the two sides signed a 2-year agreement of technological cooperation in August, 2014.
