Mr. Chu Fuxiang delivering a keynote speech

IUFRO Directors Forum was held in China National Convention Center, Beijing, on Oct 25th. The theme of the Forum was Management of Forest Research in Asia/Oceania. Mr. Chu Fuxiang, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Forestry, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Forest Research Management in China”.

The Forum was composed of three parts. Part I was the keynote speech made by Chu Fuxiang. Part II was Results of IUFRO Survey on Developments in Forest Research Management and the latest hotspot issues and trend of international forest research presented by Magdalena Lackner from International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA). Part III was forest research management experience shared by executives of forest research and management institutions of Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia and Australia, and face-to-face exchanges.

Participants were engaged in heated discussions on organizational development, development ideas, budget uses and management, and regional cooperation of forest research and global governance on forests.
