Closing Ceremony of 2016 Training Course on Bamboo Cultivation Technology for Ghana Held at CBRC

On July 21, 2016, the closing ceremony of 2016 Training Course on Bamboo Cultivation Technology for Ghana was held at CBRC headquarters in Hangzhou. Professor Wang Yukui, Deputy Director-General of CBRC, delivered a speech. Participant representative, Madam Cynthia Yaganume Kuor of Ministry of Land and Natural Resources of Ghana, also gave a speech. The ceremony was facilitated by Professor Chen Yuhe, Deputy Director-General of CBRC. 

Professor Wang expressed the sincere congratulations on the successful conclusion of this training course. He thanked Ministry of Commerce of China, State Forestry Administration, Chinese Academy of Forestry and all training bases for their tremendous support and assistance. He hoped that China and Ghana would strengthen the cooperation in bamboo cultivation and processing, and make even greater contributions to bamboo industry development and ecological conservation in both countries. Madam Cynthia Yaganume Kuor expressed the heartfelt gratitude to the sponsor and the organizer of this training course. She said the lectures and the field trips significantly broadened the horizons of the participants. They not only learned new technology, but also got to know better about China. She pledged that after returning to Ghana, they would rely on the knowledge gained in China to promote the bamboo industry development in Ghana. 

Sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by CBRC, this training course lasted 90 days. It was the very first bilateral bamboo technology training course held at CBRC. 20 Ghanaian participants were enrolled, mainly from Forestry Commission of Ghana, and others were officials from NGO’s and entrepreneurs.
