On the afternoon of December 18th, Professor Zohar Kerem of Faculty of Food, Nutrition and Environment, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Mr. Oded Salomon, the senior counselor in olea europaea, Mr. Eitan Neubauer, the counselor for international cooperation, technology and agriculture of Embassy of Israel in China, visited Chinese Academy of Forestry and had an academic exchange of scientific research with Research Institute of Forestry, CAF.
Based on years of investigation and work in Chinese plantations of olea europaea, Mr. Salomon gave an introductory speech on the development, prospect and problems of Chinese olea europaea industry, and put forward all-around analysis and suggestions.
Prof. Kerem gave an academic report entitled “Quality and Natural Pharmaceutical Ingredients of Pomegranate and Olive Oil” and introduced the progress and achievements of scientific research on the extraction and antioxidant activity of natural beneficial elements of plants, as well as the plantation of olea europaea conducted by his team.
RIF and Israeli guests have reached a preliminary cooperation intention of research and a consensus on the cooperation of scientific researcher training in olea europaea, promoting the development of Chinese olea europaea industry and improving the academic level of scientific research.
Zhang Jianguo, the head of RIF, experts in related fields and department heads attended the symposium.
