On December 21^st, Professor Nakazawa Yoshihisa of Osaka University was invited to Non-timber Forest Research and Development Center of CPRC for an academic exchange of eucommia. Du Hongyan, the associate director of CPRC, Wuyun Tana, the director assistant, Teng Xiaoping, the general manager of Hunan Jiujiumancheng Eucommia Industrial Group, as well as the Eucommia Research Team crew and postgraduates participated in the exchange.

At the symposium, Prof. Nakazawa gave an academic report entitled “Anatomical Research on the Distribution of Rubber in Eucommia Fruit” and Prof. Wuyun Tana gave one on the significant progress of research on the eucommia whole-genome sequence. Both sides have held a discussion about academic questions of eucommia of common concern.

Sino-Japanese understanding and communication of research on eucommia have been strengthened through the academic exchange. Both sides said that they would deepen exchanges and cooperation of eucommia research in many areas and improve the global level of eucommia research in the future.
