Report by Prof. Richard Thomas

Prof. Richard B. Thomas, Chair of the Department of Biology,  West Virginia University (WVU), paid an invited visit to CAF on September the 22nd, 2013 and presented a report entitled “A New Story From Old Trees: Possible Causes of a Recent Anomaly in Tree Growth in the Central Appalachian Mountains”. The presentation was moderated by Prof. Liu Shirong, Vice President of CAF. The report captured the interests of the attending professors and graduates, who then discussed and exchanged viewpoints on related scientific issues with the speaker. Following the presentation a further academic discussion was held between Prof. Thomas and the counterpart scientists of CAF.
