the Fourth Meeting of the Liaison Group of the Coordination Mechanism for Cooperation in Forestry Between China and the CEE Countries was Held Online

On November 25, the 4th meeting of the Liaison Group of the Coordination Mechanism for Cooperation in Forestry between China and the CEE Countries (17+1) was held online. The meeting was presided over by Ms. Ksenja Podpecan, the 17+1 Coordination Mechanism for Cooperation in Forestry Secretariat, Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia. Liaison group members from 11 countries including China, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Slovenia participated in the meeting, with Austria attending as an observer country. The meeting had total participants of 22.

Director Gregor Meterc of Secretariat of the 17+1 Coordination Mechanism for Cooperation in Forestry and the Forestry Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia gave the opening speech. The Liaison Group welcomed Greece to officially join the 17+1 Coordination Mechanism for Cooperation in Forestry and listened to reports on the overview of Greek forests and forestry strategies. The Liaison Group reviewed the progress of forestry cooperation from 2019 to 2020, discussed the cooperation plan for 2021-2022, and the 3rd High-level Meeting of the Coordination Mechanism for Cooperation in Forestry. The Chinese liaison officer and Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration Chen Lin made an introduction to the third high-level meeting and the preparation plan for forestry industry investment and trade forums and other related matters. Deputy Director of the Division of International Cooperation of the CAF Chen Yujie introduced the cooperation and exchanges of the forestry scientific research between the CAF and CEE countries from 2019 to 2020

The meeting also discussed 17+1 trade and investment opportunities, forestry industry cooperation guidelines and other topics.

Associated personnel from the Research Institute of Forestry, the Research Institute of Wood Industry, and the Division of International Cooperation attended the meeting online simultaneously. (Wang Yanzun/ Division of International Cooperation)
